The Bible

We believe the Bible in its entirety is verbally inspired, inerrant and infallible in the original autographs; that, as God's Revelation, it has been preserved by Him, and thus speaks unequivocally with divine authority from Genesis to Revelation. {see 2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21; 3:14-16; Hebrews 4:12; Galatians 3:22-24 & Psalms 119:9-11}.

God

We believe in one God eternally existing in three co-equal persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit; that He created the world and continues to sustain it; that God the Father exercises His sovereign will among His creation without rendering man's freewill void. {see 2 Corinthians 13:14; Deuteronomy 6:4; Genesis 3:22; Genesis 1; Colossians 1:16-19; Romans 9:14-23 & Acts 2:22-23}.

The Lord Jesus Christ is God, manifest in the flesh and one with the Father from before time began; born of a virgin by the Holy Spirit, to become the sinless God man; that He laid down His life as a substitutionary sacrifice for sin; that He was buried and rose from the dead on the third day, and ascended to heaven where He is now seated at the right hand of God the Father interceding on behalf of believers. {see Hebrews 1:1-3; John 10:30-33; John 8:58; John 1:1-3, 14-18; Philippians 2:6-7; Isaiah 7:14; 9:6-7; Luke 1:26-37; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 5:6-8; 1 Peter 2:21-24; 1 Timothy 2:5-6; Galatians 3:13; Isaiah 53; Romans 4:24-25; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; Hebrews 7:22-8:2 & 1 John 2:1-2}.

The Holy Spirit was active in the creation of heaven and earth; that He superintended the revelation of God's Word, inspiring the men who inscribed it; that He works today in convicting mankind of sin, righteousness and judgment, effecting regeneration and indwelling all believers, baptizing each into the Body of Christ, and filling those who seek His will. He also distributes divine gifts, teaches, guides, assures and intercedes for praying believers. {see Genesis 1:2; 2 Peter 1:21; John 16:7-11; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; 12:11-13; Ephesians 5:18-21; 4:4-13; Romans 12:3-8; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11; John 14:26; 16:13-15 & Romans 8:16, 26}.

Salvation

We believe that everyone needs Jesus Christ as personal Savior, because everyone is sinful, has sinned and is separated therefore from God, guilty in His sight and subject to His eternal wrath. Though we have sinned, God loves us, and sent His Son to redeem us to Himself through the shed blood of Jesus Christ; that because of His death we can have forgiveness of sin. There is no salvation except through the Lord Jesus Christ and His work on the Cross; that salvation is obtained solely through personal faith in Christ's substitutionary death and resurrection. {see Romans 5:12; 3:10-23; Jeremiah 17:9; 1 John 1:5-10; 1 Peter 1:17-19; Romans 5:6-9; Colossians 1:20-22; John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 5:1-2; Ephesians 2:1-10; John 1:12-13; 3:36; 5:24 & Acts 16:31}.

Once an individual has faith in Jesus Christ for salvation, that individual has an eternally irreversible position in Christ, which guarantees his salvation. This security is independent of one's works. Nonetheless, true faith will be evidenced by good works. see Ephesians 1:13-14; 2:1-10; John 10:22-28; Romans 8:31-39; James 2:14-16 & Romans 6:1-2}.

Every true believer goes to heaven at the time of death. The unbeliever is doomed to hell and the lake of fire through refusal to trust in Christ. God is not willing that any should perish thus, but desires that all should repent and be saved. {see 2 Corinthians 5:1-9; Matthew 13:36-43; Luke 16:14-31 & 1 Timothy 2:4-6}.

The Church

We believe the universal church is founded and headed by Jesus Christ and composed of all the believers in Christ. The local church is a geographic composite of such believers who worship and fellowship together as well as disciple one another. They are governed by elders (and by deacons under the authority of the elders}, under the Lordship of Christ. Its main purpose is to glorify God. In obedience to the Lord, this body practices baptism upon the profession of salvation, and regularly commemorates the Lord's death until He comes again. {see Colossians 1:18; Matthew 16:18; Galatians 1:1-2; Acts 2:41-47; 1 Peter 5:1-5; 1 Timothy 3:1-13; Philippians 1:1; Ephesians 3:20-21; Matthew 28:18-20 & 1 Corinthians 11:23-34}.

The Future

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ will come again as He promised; that in the last days there will be a resurrection of dead believers immediately followed by a rapture of living believers; that all believers in Him will subsequently go before the judgment seat of Christ for a judgment of their works, resulting in rewards or loss of rewards; that there will be a great world-wide tribulation precipitating the second advent of Jesus Christ and His thousand-year reign; that there will be an ultimate judgment of unbelievers and the permanent establishment of a new heaven and a new earth. {see John 14:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 3:10-15; Matthew 24:3-31; Revelation 19-20 & 21:1-8}.
